Let’s Go to Camp!
Youth and children who are connected to Newberg First United Methodist
Church are eligible to receive a scholarship toward the registration fee
of a Christian summer day camp or residential camp. Many of our
students enjoy Tilikum day camp just outside of Newberg and Camp
Magruder residential camp at the Oregon Coast between Garabaldi and
Rockaway Beach. Scholarship applications are made available in the
spring.

Nursery
Elementary Sunday School
Elementary students are invited to Sunday School (September through June) from 9:45-10:45am.
Students should attend worship with their families for the first 10-15 minutes. After Young Disciples time in worship, students will be dismissed to the Sunday School room. We’ll start with music with the Nursery kids, then split into two groups.
Kindergarteners and 1st graders are welcome to begin in the Nursery at 9:30 and then may choose which age group to be with during the lesson
time.
On Communion Sundays, Nursery and Elementary students will return to the Sanctuary to take Communion with their families.
Youth
Infants through 1st graders are invited to grow their faith through music, Bible stories, crafts, and play!
Join us Sunday mornings
9:30-10:45am.
Parents may drop kids off beginning at 9:15am. Our Nursery is located at the south end of the Fellowship Hall.
SUNDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP
6:00-8:00pm — Dinner Provided
Due to a generous grant from Cascadia Grants & Loans, the extension society that supports United Methodist Churches in the Cascadia District, Newberg First UMC was able to purchase a commercial-grade playground piece for the courtyard geared for 2-5 year olds. This purchase was part of a larger effort to improve our youth and children’s program, which included the hiring of a Nursery Teacher and Sunday School Teacher in the fall of 2024 and a revamp of the Community Room where the youth group meets. The playground equipment and rubber tiles were installed in summer 2025, and the congregation held a consecration and ribbon-cutting on August 3rd. Each kiddo present got their own scissors and ribbon to cut!
