UMCOR

Covenant Missionary in
El Salvador

The Mission Ambassadors lead our covenant relationship with Methodist missionary Ellyn Dubberly who is assigned to teach English and coordinate children's Sunday School curriculum for the 13 Methodist churches in El Salvador. English skills improve the work prospects for her students, and the custom Sunday School curriculum ensures that a Wesleyan expression of the Christian faith is shared in culturally appropriate ways. On her last tour in the United States, Ellyn worshiped with NFUMC and presented the church with an embroidered altar cloth and pastoral stole. Ellyn has recently launched a breakfast ministry to accompany the Sunday School program in her primary church, which NFUMC is financially supporting, and she will be working over the coming years to expand the program to other churches. Please keep Ellyn and the El Salvadoran churches in your regular prayers. Read Ellyn's newsletter updates below.

To arrange projects to meet special needs. For example, in recent years we have collected items for the Catalyst High School resource room and the Mabel Rush School resource room. We have worked in conjunction with FISH to provide food for local families in need, and we held diaper and coat drives for A Family Place relief nursery.

New members are welcome.
