Missions

Mission opportunities for youth are provided through teaching and learning
experiences, worshiping, working and helping others in Christian love.

Newberg First United Methodist Church is in a covenant relationship with the
Erbeles who are missionaries in Alaska, supports other mission projects,  responds
to crisis situations nationally and globally through giving Global Ministries and the
United Methodist Committee on Relief, and has a Sister Church Relationship with
Richmond-Craigmillar Church and
Richmond's Hope in Edinburgh, Scotland

Community Outreach

We support these local agencies with our gifts and service:

Habitat for Humanity
Work parties and financial support are shared to help provide affordable housing
for those in need.

F.I.S.H. (Community Food Bank)
We donate food, money and volunteer time to support this community agency.

Community Garden
The garden provides fresh produce for members of the community.  Produce is
taken to FISH (food bank) and the surplus is sold to church members to raise
funds to be donated to the food bank.

Sack Lunches
On the fourth Sunday each month 100 or more sack lunches are prepared and
then distributed to hungry, transient people in downtown Portland.
